Park Like Invitation – down town

Thirty skiers and riders will rock the Park
from 6pm when audiences can expect to see
some outrageous moves on display as
competitors vie for prize money.this is the
6th year the popular event has been staged
by The Remarkables.
Josh Clark, Youth Action Sports Co-ordinator
for The Remarkables and Coronet Peak said
the Parklife Invitational had grown to be
the pinnacle event on the Queenstown
freestyle calendar. Its an awesome night out
with a winning combination of freestyle
action and pumping beats. As always the
Parklife Rider Team will be out in force as
well as well known riders. In preparation
for the event, rails will be positioned on a
purpose built stair feature at Earnslaw Park
and snow will be trucked in from The
Remarkables. Food and alcohol will be on
sale throughout the duration of the event. |

NZ Freeski Big Mtn Open - quals & semifinal |

The Freeski Open is back and bigger than
ever! 2009 will see the Freeski Open
stepping it up to a level which rivals that
of the world’s biggest freeski events. With
a complete athlete focus and international
team of organisers this will undoubtedly
prove to be the best freeski event to be
hosted in the Southern Hemisphere. The fifth
annual event covers three major freeski
disciplines: Slopestyle, Halfpipe and Big
Mountain, Big Mountain freeskiers face the
steepest and most challenging terrain
testing the chutes of The Remarkables. The
slopestyle course is being designed to
ensure the riders have the features they
need to be able to throw down big! Invited
International pre-qualified riders will set
the benchmark giving the amateurs and
professional athletes the chance to prove
their worth on the world stage. Entrants
will fight through qualifiers and semis for
a spot in the finals and a share of
the prize pool! |

Remarks Rampage SlopeStyle |

The Remarkables Rampage is an established
annual event held in the advanced terrain
park at The Remarkables ski field. Top
international and NZ's free stylers
will display their skills on a purpose-built
course. This will be a massive day with a
large prize pool up for grabs! You won't be
disappointed as a competitor or spectator.
Great viewing from the chairlift or down
on ground level. Categories
are male/female, ski/board and open only. |

series for all you young rip snorting
jibbers called The Parklife Youth Mini Shred
for 16 years and under based at our
Queesntown ski areas. Based at The
Remarks 20th of September.
With a massive prize pack and some hammer
time bling bling medals you won’t be
disappointed with all the free swag. Oh yeah
it’s also free entry so you wont have to
hassle mum for the dollars to enter.
Registration is from 9-10am. FREE ENTRY
with a $20 bib deposit. Helmets Compulsory. |
